 Did Not Work For Me
Although I found the software CustomIcons v5.0 a nice and tidy little program, I was not too impressed with it's capabilities. In the blurb about it, was stated that it would change the Drive Icons. Well for some reason, the two drive icons (my C: drive and partition drive D:) changed to a bland old document type icons. I have been and tried many options, like going into the registery file etc, to no avail, when I came across this software. Downloaded, and ran the software, but alas, nothing happened. Incidenly I am running MS XP on my desktop. Due to this fact, I do not intend to purchase a license, and will keep looking for one that does. I do not wish to re-install windows XP.

I have download this soft because i need to recover a RAID 5 with 3 HHDs and I want to backup the disk before the recovery. I saw that this program can make a backup image from a complete device without having a partition. For the moment I started the backup prosses but it is taking to long. I do not know if the software is making it or not.

Thanks for the useful tool! If I might make one suggestion - I would not allow the program to run in the tray after it's opened, it should automatically close itself after a certain period of inactivity. Otherwise, if someone walked away from their computer, another individual could simply open it from the tray and view all their passwords.

More for the technical astute than the newbe
After download, the first problem i had to overcome was that it assumes that you can handle Microsoft mdb files. For most of us that means a visit to the Microsoft site for a download, just to get it up and running.
If you are familiar with the Microsoft Access interface then this tool provides a useful way of keeping a note of which articles you have submitted and where you have sumbitted them to.
It migh have been more useful to design it around an embedded database (MySql and Hsql have possibilities) so that you would be up and running with the minimum of fuss.
Sadly, unless you have a great need for an additional place to record and monitor your article submissions this is unlikely to add true value

necessary tool
It seems a good one if you have to use Windows and cannot have the use of Linux/Unix utilities. I like the feature that it can generate a password by listening for a shortcut, which, by the way, can be modified, and it copies it on the clipboard. This is a tool that you do not use every day, so I don't see the point in starting it, every time Windows starts, but as this feature can be turned off, I guess it's OK. If it also stored your passwords, this feature might come extremely useful though, even if not the safest with careless users who don't know that this feature is to be used with Dummy passwords only (file downloads and other paranoiac purposes). What is missing: It can only give you alphanumeric characters, so if you want your password safer, you have to insert manually other characters (e.g. ,.~@*-=) if they are accepted by the application for which you need a password. Once I saw the utility in an old Linux mkpasswd version with the two-hand mode option, which generates passwords more difficult to read by looking at someone typing it by alternating the characters between the right and left hands. That would be a neat feature. It would also be a safety increasing measure if the user could determine min-max how many numbers/letters/extra chars can appear in the generated string.
